The Grenada Citizenship by Investment Unit has implemented a significant update regarding the processing of applications, as stated in Circular No. 4 dated June 1, 2023 and signed by Thomas Anthony, the newly appointed CEO of the CBI Unit.

In alignment with the Government’s commitment to enhance operational efficiency and reduce expenses, the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Unit has transitioned to a paperless environment.

Effective immediately, the CBI Unit will no longer require physical copies of application documents, except for passport photos, which are still to be submitted in hard copy format. All other essential paperwork, including notarized forms, client documents, and signed forms, will now be accepted digitally.

By embracing digital applications, the processing time for applicants is expected to be significantly accelerated. Eliminating the need to send physical copies via couriers (which often takes several weeks depending on the client’s location) will streamline the overall procedure and enhance efficiency.

This significant step places Grenada at the forefront of CBI programs in the Caribbean, as it becomes the first nation to fully embrace a paperless approach. This progressive move by Grenada is expected to inspire other countries to adopt similar paperless practices in their citizenship programs. By demonstrating the advantages and efficiency of digital processing, Grenada aims to set an example and encourage the wider adoption of streamlined and environmentally friendly approaches in the coming years.
