At the moment, the Commonwealth of Dominica is negotiating with United Airlines, Air Canada, and Delta Airlines to expand direct flights to the country. American Airlines recently opened direct flights between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Dominica Douglas Charles Airport (DOM).

“We are aggressively pursuing various methods to ensure that people can come to Dominica on the same day they depart from their country; it is very critical for our destination, so far discussions are advancing positively,” said Denise Charles, Tourism Minister of Dominica.

An easier way to travel to Dominica will allow even more tourists from North America to reach the island without any problems. And with the holidays approaching, Dominica could be a great winter getaway option.

The country is actively developing eco-tourism and offering excellent accommodation options, and several luxury boutique hotels have sprung up in recent years. Tourists also do not have to worry about their time on the island, as Dominica is moving towards full resilience to climate change, and in recent years the tourism industry has been actively developing.

The country’s development is largely funded by the Dominica Citizenship by Investment program. Since 1993, foreign investors have had the opportunity to invest in the country and obtain citizenship and a passport in return.

Advantages of Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme:

  • Quick processing: A lifetime citizenship is granted in 6-9 months
  • Privacy: The application process is confidential
  • Low cost: Dominica offers one of the most affordable legal programmes available to the global community
  • Hassle-free: There is no requirement to visit Dominica in order to qualify for citizenship
  • Global mobility: Dominica’s citizenship program elevates global mobility opportunities for its investors.
  • Zero tax: The island has no income, wealth or inheritance taxes
