Why Invest In Türkiye?

Historic cityscape with stone buildings and minarets under a dramatic sunset sky.

Türkiye is well known for its hospitality and good geopolitical location. But this is a very attractive destination for foreign business owners to invest in and expand their business abroad because Türkiye offers strategic access to all the key markets.

Foreign investors can take advantage of the special benefits offered by the Turkish government to stimulate economic development. Low operating costs, tax incentives, availability of local manufacturers. Separately, it is worth noting the young, skilled, and working-age population, which can be relatively cheaper than in the investor’s country.

Another attraction for foreign investors is that Türkiye is a country with an emerging economy and with the latest developments in industrial sectors.

Due to the big interest in Türkiye, rapid population growth, and city development projects, the construction industry and real estate are booming. Many investors choose to invest in real estate as it is a solid investment.

By purchasing real estate, the investor has the opportunity to obtain Turkish citizenship through the Citizenship by Investment program. The Turkish investment program has been operating since 2016 and offers investors various investment opportunities:

1. Real Estate Investment

Purchase a property of US$ 400,000 with a pledge not to sell it for 3 years

2. Bank Deposit

Depositing US$500,000 in a state bank in Turkey for a period of 3 years

3. Shares

Purchase shares of US$ 500,000 in Turkish REITs or Venture Capital Funds (VCFs) with a pledge not to sell them for a period of 3 years

4. Government Bonds

Buy government bonds in the amount of US$ 500,000 and pledge not to sell them for 3 years

5. Company

Purchase a company with a capital of US$ 500,000

6. Employment

Employ 50 Turkish people and make their insurance

Please, note that the conditions of the Turkish Citizenship by Investment Program will be slightly modified. According to the new decree, which was published in the Official Gazette on January 6, in order to obtain citizenship, it is necessary to invest in the country’s foreign currency, which will be converted into Turkish lira. The investors’ money will be held in the Turkish lira for the required time period.
