Recently, the government announced a large program to support citizens financially in the amount of US$15 million. The plan is to pay US$ 1,000 every three months to those who meet the criteria.

This is the latest financial package designed to ease the hardships associated with the economic fallout because of the pandemic.

During the pandemic, the government provided financial support to citizens by implementing a number of fiscal strategies.

“Our priority is to support those most in need at this time and to support as many persons as possible,” Prime Minister Timothy Harris said at a press conference. “In other words, we want to be fair, and we want to be equitable in the reach of the support which the government is providing.”

Among other things, the government “would be waiving commercial rent for small businesses, introducing provisions for bus operators and establishing a deferral on residential electricity bills amongst other significant measures,” finance.yahoo writes.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment program played a key role last year. With the help of the program, foreigners have the opportunity to invest in the country and receive a passport and citizenship in return.

The Citizenship by Investment Program helped fund the Poverty Alleviation Programme (PAP), which provides additional monthly payments to low-income families.

The Saint Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program is one of the oldest and has been operating since 1984.

There are several investment options: investing in a sustainable growth fund or real estate.
