In 2021, 898 main applicants were approved for the Greece Golden Visa. And in November, 151 main applicants received approval.
Despite the fact that this year the country issued 40 fewer approvals than last year, almost 40% of all Golden visas occur in October and November.
As for Portugal, in 2021 the country issued more Golden Visas than Greece. Portugal also crossed the 10,000 investor milestone when Greece is just on the way (to date, 9,473 investors have been approved).
Citizens of China are most interested in the Greece Golden Visa, followed by citizens of Russia and Turkey.
Foreign investors choose the Greece Golden Visa program as it provides a number of benefits:
- Visa-free entry to all the countries of the Schengen Agreement practically not limited in time
- The whole family has the right to live in any country of the Schengen area during the period when the residence permit is valid
- There is no need to stay in Greece for a certain period of time
- The right to apply for citizenship after five years from the date of obtaining permanent residence
- The right to register or purchase his own business
- The right to educate his/her children in educational institutions of the Schengen countries
- The right to obtain the permanent residence after five years from the date of obtaining residence permits
An investor can obtain residency through the purchase of real estate or by proving that the investor is considered a financially independent person.
