Meet Nevis’ New Tourism Ambassador – Mel B

Former Spice Girl member Mel B has been named Nevis Tourism Ambassador for 2022. She has become one of four ambassadors who will raise the profile of the island as a holiday destination.

The NTA released a statement saying that “Nevis Ambassadors are projected to showcase the island’s tourism offerings from their own unique perspective via editorial content, social networks, and interviews among other media platforms.”

Mel B was chosen as the ambassador because her father was born on Nevis and part of the family still lives on the island. “I feel incredibly honoured to be asked to be an ambassador for Nevis. Nevis is not just part of where I come from, but it is part of who I am, it is my dad’s home country and it is still the place where so many members of my family still live. For me, this is a huge deal. I’m excited to know more about this beautiful island and I’m excited to share that knowledge with the rest of the world. I want to put Nevis on the map,” said the singer.

Other tourism ambassadors are luxury travel writer Ava Roxanne Stritt; journalist, Brian Major, and actress Nikeva.
