Strengthening the health sector is one of the main challenges of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

“Throughout this pandemic since 2020, we have adopted a life-first strategy. Investments like these two field hospitals…are part of the build-out of the life first strategy that we have been advocating and represents further continuing efforts to strengthen the health system in St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Prime Minister Timothy Harris.

To support Saint Kitts and Nevis, the United States donated two field hospitals with forty beds. They have been designed to the highest international standards and will largely support the country’s health infrastructure.

“The field hospitals are a cornerstone of our commitment to the health of our neighbours in this Hemisphere. Our donation of this critically needed medical infrastructure will increase the ability of St. Kitts and Nevis to address the ongoing global pandemic and meet future challenges, including natural disasters,” said Ambassador Linda Taglialatela, Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.

The United States and Saint Kitts and Nevis established diplomatic relations in 1983 and have maintained them ever since. Separately, it is worth noting the number of American entrepreneurs who choose St. Kitts and Nevis citizenship by investment program.
