Germany To Allow Dual Citizenship

The new coalition government said it would allow dual citizenship and also make it easier to obtain German citizenship.

According to the new coalition agreement, the government will change the law, which will simplify the “path to German citizenship” and will also allow “multiple citizenships”. That is dual citizenship for non-EU citizens will be allowed.

“Currently, non-EU citizens who did not grow up in Germany must generally choose between German and foreign citizenship after reaching the age of 21,” writes thelocal.
